And held up the bar with a jack, aligned and marked it so that the bolt holes line up with the bolts perfectly.

The whole assembly comes off again and now needs to be prepped for welding. You want to ensure you get good penetration here so clean the area down to bare metal.

Bust out the welder and get at it! You don’t need to weld the entire bracket but tack welding won’t suffice either. A strong bond is essential here.

Not that any one will see it but paint the plates black so that the bare metal doesn’t rust.

Re-install the re-bar and we’re done with it!

Lets turn our attention to the guts inside the US bumper since we’ll be recycling them onto the JDM one.

You’ll need to remove 3 phillips head screws holding the main bracket to the bumper.
